Please join us for a special reception introducing New Leaders Council-Houston to our community on Wednesday, May 6, 2015.
We can't wait to introduce you to the remarkably talented, thoughtful, dynamic Fellows. They are doctors, teachers, entrepreneurs, lawyers, writers, organizers, business people, parents, and activists. Some are native Houstonians, others are new to Texas and the United States. They represent the future of Houston, and are anxious to meet you to learn how they can work with you to make sure that future is stronger and brighter for everyone.
We'll also be joined by New Leaders Council Board Chair, Chris Kelly.
Chris is a Silicon Valley attorney with a long track record of representing innovative companies and making the Internet a safer place for kids and adults alike. As the first Chief Privacy Officer, General Counsel, and Head of Global Public Policy for Facebook,
Chris helped the company grow from its college roots to the ubiquitous communications medium that it is today.
Since leaving Facebook, he's become an active angel investor in companies seeking transformational improvements in technology, media, and finance. A policy advisory for President Clinton in the early 1990s, Chris advanced critical domestic programs. He's worked as an attorney in private practice, and most recently, become part of an investor group that made a successful bid to keep the NBA's Sacramento Kings in Sacramento.
Chris will share brief remarks about NLC's vision and mission, and will gladly answer your questions, but we suspect he agrees with us that the stars of the show, the ones you'll be telling your friends about, are our Fellows. We look forward to seeing you on May 6th!
